The Consultants:

The Partnership is headed by Ian Irvin,
He has over twenty years of senior management experience up to Managing Director level plus practical consulting expertise in many sectors including construction, utilities, engineering and manufacturing.

He studied Civil Engineering and Economics at University. Prior to search he worked with Howard Humphreys (Consulting Engineers), Bovis, Goodyear, Blackwood Hodge and the Mannesman Group working up to Board level and then established his own multinational engineering/manufacturing business before moving into strategy Consultancy and then Search in the early 90’s.

He is supported by other experienced consultants as appropriate and by researchers and administrative, back office, services lead by Tina Packham.

Tina Packham,
Tina has over 15 years of experience providing organisational management and support in organisations covering the law, manufacturing and human resources. Also having extensive experience of research, particularly in support of high level, confidential assignments.

Mark Weedon:
Mark has over 25 years of experience in executive search. This was preceded by a first class education at Cambridge and Harvard where he gained a double first and an MBA and 5 years working as a senior Associate at McKinsey. In his time in executive search Mark has been Managing Partner of Egon Zehnder as well as working in other established search firms. In recent years Mark has focused his extensive high level contacts and knowledge of major corporates and their key people to focus on the Non Executive Director/Chairman recruitment needs. He has now developed particular and in-depth experience and expertise in this special area of recruitment.

Richard Ball:
Richard spent the first part of his career in increasingly senior roles in manufacturing and engineering before moving into the Interim Management recruitment business. He started the now leading supplier in this market and developed its methodology and skill base. He recently left the company, in recent years owned by a leading Search business, because he believed it had lost its focus and core values and he wished to re-establish these in a new business providing the kind of customer service and focus that he knows clients require.

Michele Deverall:
Michele developed her initial career in the City with companies such as the Swiss Bank Corporation, in broad ranging, top level financial and consulting markets. She developed high degrees of Human Resource Management and Management Development skills, latterly with Arthur Andersen. She has lectured in this area for the LSE. For the past 10 years she has worked at Chief Executive and Board level. Michele believes she is particularly valuable in assisting decision making processes and value systems, developing “leader” persona and coaching Chief Executives and Board members.

Richard Grills:
Richard is a graduate who developed a formal HR career working in the IT industry, reaching the position of HR director for Fujitsu Europe before moving into Recruitment, focusing on both search and selection and including technical as well as managerial roles. Richards' in-depth understanding of this very specific market enables him to bring this particular expertise to recruitment work in this sector.

Alan Collins:
Alan has over 20 years of experience of mid level recruitment in the Construction Industry with personal experience of bodyshoping and database recruitment before moving into using search procedures to solve recruitment problems at operational levels in the industry. Alan and Ian can thus provide a "one-stop" recruitment solution to companies in the Construction Sector, from £30k to £300k salaries, utilising the same levels of quality control and effective value solutions.

 A special grouping of Consultants under the AVASST branding specialise in activities in this area. IrvinHunt will provide overall project management with individual, specialist consultants being utilised as appropriate. The Key Consultants operating on these services are;
Neil Sampson:
An ex career HR executive with Shell & Tesco, who moved into recruitment in 1986, working with Austin Knight and TMP. In the latter Neil was a Director of the TMP.MSL activity managing the Public/Not for Profit sector and as a member of the British Psychological Society, focusing on Mentoring, Counselling and Psychometric testing activities across public and private sectors.
Clive Steeper:
An engineering Graduate and chartered engineer (MIEE), Clive's career evolved through Project Management into Operations Management via a Fellowship in Manufacturing Management from Cranfield. He was posted to the USA and his increasingly responsible business roles lead to being Managing Director of a Manufacturing business before moving into change Management Consultancy.
Stephen Vause:
A Bristol University graduate and MIPD, Stephen gained his management training with BPCC before focusing on HR and moving to recruitment in 1985. He became Regional Director South West for Austin Knight/TMP gaining extensive experience in Advertised recruitment.

Neil, Clive and Stephen are backed by teams of operational specialists, as appropriate, to enable adequate servicing of any sized project/assignment.
